How do you handle sharps on your operation?Agricultural sharps—like needles, Medi-Darts, glass syringes, medication bottles and scalpels—are essential tools for animal health. But disposing of them safely can come with hidden costs and challenges.Students from the Bachelor of Applied Science – Agribusiness program at Olds College, in collaboration with VBP+, are working to better understand the real costs and practices of sharps disposal on Canadian livestock operations.Right now, there’s very little consolidated data on what producers actually experience.
